
Registered Nurse Operating Room (OR)
We are currently looking for highly professional, experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse.
Post-graduate OR course or Preoperative Nursing Certificate and recent OR experience preferred.
Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Proof of PLP as mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current BCLS
Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (MMRV); proof of negative TB skin test within one 1 year
Current N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Good verbal and written communications skills
Good interpersonal skills
Demonstrated knowledge of OR environment, procedures, instruments and equipment
Psychomotor dexterity that demonstrates a potential to perform complex skills in limited time periods
Demonstrated ability to deal with personal stress and stressful situations in a constructive manner
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated accountability and responsibility
Good teaching and leadership skills

The RN, as one of the providers of health care, has a unique role in promoting health, in preventing illness, and in helping clients attain and maintain the highest level of health possible. They are responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, with predictable and unpredictable outcomes who may or may not be clinically stable. The RN practices in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Professional Standards. The scope of the Operating Room nursing practice takes in those nursing activities that assist the individual surgical patient in a conscious or unconscious state. These activities are directed toward providing continuity of care through pre-operative assessment and planning, intra-operative intervention, and post-operative evaluation.
