We are currently looking for highly professional, experienced Emergency and Critical Care (ER/ICU) Registered Nurses.
BScN
Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Proof of PLP as mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario
Able to work with persons with Infectious diseases
ACLS & BLS Certificate Required
Critical Care Certificate (for ICU applicants)
Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (MMRV); proof of negative TB skin test within 1 year
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an Emergency Room/Critical Care Unit
Current N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Ability to work independently, or as part of a team
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Shift scheduling requirements:
Must be available for “urgent or last minute” shifts, scheduled within 2 hours of shift start time
Must be able to work the flexible shift times, depending on the facility, 8 or 12 hours in length
Must be able to “float” from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need
Must be available to work all shifts — days, evenings and nights — including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays
Required to work 2 weekends per month
Must be reliable (once availability is given) to be placed at an agreed upon facility/unit
Must be in compliance with the Helping Hands Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy (provided for review upon hiring)
Additional skills:
Demonstrated knowledge in Palliative, Cognitive and Physical Support, Rehabilitation, Mental Health and/or restorative care
Confident and able to complete all tasks that are within the scope of practice
Able to handle stressful situations in a positive manner and be adaptable to working in a variety of clinical settings and facilities
Provide direct patient care
Follow the policies and procedures set out by the facility
Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
